The Train

Two lines ran in parallel,
Sinewy and contoured,
Like identical twins,
No differences to the naked eye.

The track guided through an unseen paradise,
Thousands of miles thick,
Climbed onto a snow-capped mountain,
Under the waning moon,
The snow glittered and illumined
the dark outdoors stretched further.
Twitch in the electric wiring,
The bulb glowed and died,
My mind danced in this discotheque,
As I looked out of the pane,
My face was embedded on the starry skies,
often under the shades of snow.
A reverberating roar past the milky peak,
Pushing aside the palls of snow,
Like a farmer’s plough to the field.

Few miles passed by…

A sudden dip into the valley,
A sudden change in the texture,
Burgundy leaves garlanded this monstrous snake,
The dance of chrysanthemums,
Red, white and yellow,
Dew drops running on the windows,
My fingers played with that dew,
Shapes, names and illusions,
A degree of freedom uncovered
in the world of imagination.
The taint on the skies from
the tons of coal that burned rigorously
With its billows enveloping the misty air
and running through the length of the train.

Few minutes passed by…

Skies were clear of smoke,
Tangerine skies,
The rays refracted from the glass,
A rainbow of colors showcased their tango.
I ambled past the aisle,
Opened the door,
Odor of earth filling my senses,
Salubrious winds sweeping across my face,
I rejoiced the silence of the dawn.
The roar echoed hitting every cloud on the sky,
Another element of nature coming into play,
Water!
The effect of friction increased,
The screech from the brakes, heard.
Like a galloping horse tuned down to cantering,
The train slowed down.
The rust on the bridge visible,
The trusses felt the force.
The river for a moment looked glazed and
was mirroring all the matter on the skies,
it perfectly painted the bridge on its currents.

Few more moments I fritter…

I slowly descend onto my spongy seat,
Let my mind transcend to a different universe,
The pitch of the notes was separable to my ears,
The same old song that ran
a million times in my head in the past,
Every note anticipated,
Every word engraved in memory,
The song started to fade,
A sudden tap on my shoulder,
I open my eyes.

A lady no older than two decades,
an inquiry for the next train.
“ten more minutes,” I retorted.

Purple hues on the skies,
fluorescent lights came to life.
The tall wooden poles,
with wires entangled,
All minuscule particles clustered in that channel,
They carry the fuel for this motored snake.
A hiss on the steel rails,
A vivid harbinger,
Few moments pass before its lights
focused onto the cracks on dilapidated bridge.
It carried the force of a storm,
Blowing the dead leaves on its way,
forcing the wind to sway towards its way.

Finally aboard,
Traveling to a destination known,
distance too known.
A cakewalk for a problem-solver,
All the variables had constant values,
No complexity,
In the world of math,
The challenge is lost.

The train moves towards its destination,
As I bid it adieu at mine.

The Beach Boogie

O! it was a Glorious day,
the sun shone like it was his last day,
don’t you worry about the next day,
because it is always just another day.

Everyday the sun crawled down,
So we danced till we went down,
Let us not let these fires die down,
Your love for her should never crumble down.

Our mother always moves around,
These fires make us move around,
The gents twist their ladies around,
There’ll only be love all around.

These guitars air a stringy tune
My harmonica settled for a windy tune,
The sand wavered to the watery tune,
We always jig to the nature’s tune.

On the beach, a surfboard found,
Breezes had a coolness found,
Thoughts had a calmness found,
At here love isn’t lost but found

With the sand castles the children play,
After the dusky skies we see the stars play,
With the waves of time our memories play,
Under the fire-lit night you dance to us play.
