The Echo of Silence

In the midnight mist,
He left his eyes wide open,
Let the moonlight shimmer in his eyes,
He kept his nostrils busy,
With pure air cleansing his soul,
Lay across on the raft,
Enjoying the reflections of the trees,
Frost kissing his lips,
Conveying its last goodbye.

As time flew he gently passed away into another world,
As gentle as the currents that carried his raft.

There is just an echo of silence…

Fear

Eyes wide open
trans-fixation of pupils- sacrificed.
On the menacing bed of snow
under the derogatory looks of the moon
I lay naked.
Scanning around with my fragile sight,
for an unborn force to take me down.

Ears wide open,
every silent roar of the wind struck the drums
with a deafening thump.
Those nonexistent whispers from the wilderness
and the savagery of its inmates that belabored the
soothing fabric of the notes
that desiccated my aural desires.

Breath deepens,
begging for bigger gasps of confidence,
dissipated due to the fatigue
from the wary thoughts
that constructed an ethereal world
to which a warm touch of a zephyr
rushing into your head,
delivered a death blow.

Mouth wide open,
tasting the fiery essence of a lover
whose lips died in crimson,
with those dried petals of roses
dancing on the acerbic tang
vices of my past that usurped her
now haunt me
rebutting every word of my excuse

Touch deepens
with cold blood feeding on the veins,
a rush of adrenaline disturbs my state of inertia.
Gravity went light on my bones, skin and mind.
Into a dark vortex I emerge,
the lonely drop of dew merged with a tear,
the lighter texture of her skin merged with
her unmatched tenderness.

Palms lock,
shadow of the winds encapsulated me with
a sudden force hurrying my feet on a highway.
Bounds unknown,
direction unknown.
lights flashing red, yellow and green,
blackest of skies started turning bluer.
More the distance I covered
the narrower the path has gotten.
I could sense a strong field
disturbing the entropy in my universe.
Few more yards I gain
and suddenly everything merged into
one infinitesimal point
with a voice screaming

“FEAR IS HALF THE DEATH!
THE OTHER HALF IS THE PUSH…”

All my senses fell a victim to her demeanor
at that instance.

Adrenaline shot up,
Eyes wide open,
Ears deafened,
Breath intensified,
mouth wide open,
words paralyzed,
numbness deepened,
cold blood inside
sent shivers to your mind
and then into a state of
FEAR.

Inspired from the works of David Lynch, one of the true masters of surrealism.
